How to connect Shelvio to Claude, including Claude Free
Add Shelvio as a custom connector in Claude, sign in, and try your first inventory request. Free-plan limits and work-account setup explained.
Claude can work with the items already saved in Shelvio. Connect once, then ask it to find an item, rewrite a title, or get a listing ready for eBay. No code or local installation needed.
Yes, you can use Claude Free
Custom remote connectors are available on Free, Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise. Free allows one custom connector; if that slot is already taken, you will need to free it up or choose a paid plan. Claude’s normal message and usage limits still apply.
On a work account, an owner or authorized Enterprise administrator adds the connector for the organization first. Each person then connects with their own Shelvio sign-in.
Get your Shelvio account ready
Use the same Shelvio sign-in you use in the app so your existing items appear. New here? You can create an account during sign-in. Open Shelvio on the web or in the app once to allow AI processing before asking it to generate a listing.
Your assistant subscription and Shelvio access are separate. Listings created through an assistant use your existing Shelvio allowance. Start an eligible free trial through the App Store or Play Store: 3 days on Weekly or 7 days on Monthly or Annual. The trial includes full mobile and web access. Subscriptions started on the web through Stripe begin immediately with no trial.

Add the custom connector
Start on claude.ai in a computer browser. Look for Customize in the sidebar, then Connectors.
- Choose + Add, then Add custom connector. Name it Shelvio.
- Paste the Shelvio server URL above and continue. Follow the detected OAuth sign-in settings; Shelvio uses a sign-in page, not an API key.
- Finish adding the connector. Choose Connect if shown, sign in to Shelvio, and approve access.
- In a chat, open +, then Connectors, and turn Shelvio on.
On Team or Enterprise: ask the owner to start in Organization settings > Connectors > Add > Custom > Web. Once added, find Shelvio under your own Connectors and sign in.
Try one small request
Send this after turning Shelvio on. Your items should match what you see in the Shelvio app. If you are just starting, an empty inventory is a valid result too.
Your first Claude message
Add photos when you are ready
For a new listing, ask Claude to create one in Shelvio. Follow the link to add photos in the Shelvio web app, or provide HTTPS links to photos already online. Photos attached to a Claude chat are not automatically passed to Shelvio.
If Shelvio does not appear
- Check your free connector slot, or ask your workspace owner whether Shelvio has been added.
- Open the chat’s + menu and make sure the Shelvio connector is enabled for that conversation.
- If Claude says it cannot connect, double-check the URL ends in /mcp and reconnect your Shelvio account.

Do I need Claude Desktop or Claude Code?
No. This guide uses Claude on the web and a hosted connector. You do not need to install developer tools or edit a configuration file.
Does a free Claude account make Shelvio unlimited?
No. Claude’s connector allowance and your Shelvio listing access are separate. Creating a listing uses the same Shelvio allowance as creating one in the app.
