30 ChatGPT and Claude prompts for listing and managing reseller inventory
Copy-ready prompts for listing from photos, getting items eBay-ready, editing, finding inventory, managing live eBay listings, and recording sales with Shelvio connected.
Once Shelvio is connected to your assistant, you do not need special commands. Plain requests work best, especially when they include the details a buyer would ask about.
These prompts are grouped by job. Swap in your own items and numbers. If your assistant does not pick up Shelvio on its own, start with “In Shelvio”. In ChatGPT, you can also type @Shelvio.
Listing from photos
Share photos of one item per request, best photo first: attach them in ChatGPT, or use the link Shelvio gives you in Claude. Say what the photos cannot show: measurements, flaws, what you tested, and what is included. Adding to a batch works only while that batch is still being photographed in the app.

Getting items ready for eBay
Give your price in the same request to save a step. You will see the full preview before anything is listed.

Editing listings
Describe the change the way you would say it out loud. Shelvio rewrites only the listing you name. Edits change your listing in Shelvio, not a listing that is already live; for a live eBay listing, only the price can change from chat.

What to expect, and what will not work
Shelvio keeps a few things deliberately out of the chat. Knowing them saves you a frustrating back-and-forth.
- Pricing: Shelvio does not look up prices in chat. Your assistant can give its own estimate if you ask (a guess, not sold data); use a Price Check in the Shelvio app for recent sold prices.
- Publishing: nothing goes live on eBay until you press List on eBay in the preview. “List everything without showing me” will get you previews, not listings.
- Reports: sales, profit, and inventory reports are in the Shelvio app and on the web.
- Other sellers and buyers: the connection sees only your own items and never shares buyer details.
- Prohibited items: Shelvio will not help list weapons, drugs, tobacco or vapes, counterfeits, and similar goods.
Questions about this workflow
Do these prompts work in both ChatGPT and Claude?
Yes. Both reach the same Shelvio tools, and the replies are worded differently. One difference: in ChatGPT you attach photos right in the chat, while in Claude Shelvio gives you a link to add them on the Shelvio web app.
Can I list several items in one message?
Send one item per request so each listing gets the right photos and details. You can keep going in the same chat, one item after another.
Why does my assistant ask for a price?
Shelvio does not look up or suggest prices in chat, and eBay listings need your own price. Tell your assistant the price you want, and it will save it.
